1. Who is responsible
WisChat is a business messaging service operated by NouxSoft. This policy covers two related but distinct things:
- The web platform at v2.wis.chat, used by subscribing companies and their agents.
- The «WisChat v2» browser extension, which links the user's own WhatsApp Web session to that platform.
If you use the extension as an agent of a company, that company is the controller of its customers' conversations; WisChat acts as processor.
2. The browser extension
Single purpose
The extension has one function only: to link the WhatsApp Web session the user already has open with their WisChat account, so that the conversations of their company's line can be handled from the panel. It does nothing else.
What data it handles
| Data | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Content of the line's messages (text and attachments) | Display them in the panel and let agents reply | Only to the WisChat server the user configures |
| Contact's phone number and display name | Identify the conversation and assign it to an agent | Only to the WisChat server the user configures |
| The line's pairing token | Authenticate the extension against that server | Stored only in the browser (chrome.storage.local) |
| Preferences (server URL, sending cadence, diagnostic mode) | Remember the configuration between sessions | Stored only in the browser |
Where it runs
The extension runs only on web.whatsapp.com. It does not read, modify or
observe any other page you visit.
Permissions requested and why
storage— store the configuration described above in the browser.scripting— inject into the WhatsApp Web tab the functions that read incoming messages and send the agent's replies.*://*.whatsapp.com/*— the only site where the extension operates.*://*.wis.chat/*— the WisChat server it synchronises with.
Remote code
The extension does not download or execute remote code. All code, including the third-party library that interacts with WhatsApp Web (wa-js, by wppconnect), ships inside the extension package itself.
3. The web platform
To provide the service, the platform processes:
- Account data: name, email address and hashed password of the subscribing company's users.
- Conversation data: messages, contacts and files from the connected WhatsApp lines, to show history and distribute cases among agents.
- Billing data: what is needed to issue the licence invoice, where applicable.
We use providers for specific functions — email delivery, payment gateways and electronic invoicing — each with access only to what its function strictly requires.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
- We do not use data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not collect browsing history or activity outside WhatsApp Web.
- We do not access the user's personal conversations unrelated to the connected company line.
5. Retention and security
Conversations are kept while the account is active, as they constitute the company's support history. When the account is closed they are deleted or anonymised, except for what must be retained under legal or tax obligations.
Traffic between the extension, the browser and the platform travels encrypted over HTTPS. Line credentials are stored encrypted and panel access requires authentication.
6. Your rights
You may request access, rectification, deletion or portability of your data, and object to certain processing. If you are an agent of a client company, address your request to that company as the controller; we will handle it as processor.
To stop using the extension, simply unpair it from its Options page and uninstall it: that erases the configuration stored in the browser.
